Later I added to that a love of soul, funk, fusion, rnb, blues, reggae, salsa, world music, acid jazz etc. all music styles that grew out of, or are otherwise related to, jazz. The piano, and other keyboards attracted my interest, because of the sound of chords - that colour inside the songs that makes them sound more alive, conveying more emotion, meaning, professionalism and hipness. Whereas we have to of course focus on the beat and the melody of any given song, the chords and the solo possibilities over those chords are just as important - but are often overlooked in a time where everybody is making beats and melodic hooks ! It is the chords that create the atmosphere, the harmony. And that is what I love to do !From those early days, I always was in several bands, playing in bars, clubs, student parties, restaurants, jam sessions, festivals, private parties, receptions etc etc. Sometimes pop music, sometimes funk or disco, or salsa or West African music, and a lot of jazz. Sometimes original material, mostly covers - but always to get that magical connection within the band, and with the audience happening - that is what live music is for, and is about. And that was my school - I learned from playing with many many talented older musicians, who showed me the way and shared their tips and tricks. The stage was my school !And at some point in my life I was lucky to be asked to play so often, that I could leave my job and enjoy only playing music. These books are placed side by side on the music stand, so that these two skills are always trained in combination. Later I added to that a love of soul, funk, fusion, rnb, blues, reggae, salsa, world music, acid jazz etc. all music styles that grew out of, or are otherwise related to, jazz. The piano, and other keyboards attracted my interest, because of the sound of chords - that colour inside the songs that makes them sound more alive, conveying more emotion, meaning, professionalism and hipness. Whereas we have to of course focus on the beat and the melody of any given song, the chords and the solo possibilities over those chords are just as important - but are often overlooked in a time where everybody is making beats and melodic hooks ! It is the chords that create the atmosphere, the harmony. And that is what I love to do !From those early days, I always was in several bands, playing in bars, clubs, student parties, restaurants, jam sessions, festivals, private parties, receptions etc etc. Sometimes pop music, sometimes funk or disco, or salsa or West African music, and a lot of jazz. Sometimes original material, mostly covers - but always to get that magical connection within the band, and with the audience happening - that is what live music is for, and is about. And that was my school - I learned from playing with many many talented older musicians, who showed me the way and shared their tips and tricks. The stage was my school !And at some point in my life I was lucky to be asked to play so often, that I could leave my job and enjoy only playing music. I enjoy playing for audiences so much, it is addictive. He and his colleagues train musicians in what you should be able to and know in the bands and on the stages. They also play an active role in advising and supporting music education in education. In 2017 he launched his own drum method called 360DRUMSbook. This method differs from other methods in that there is a separate book for beats, and also a separate book for fills. These books are placed side by side on the music stand, so that these two skills are always trained in combination. In the following years he was a part of jazz band leaded by Joaquin Betancourt.In 2007 he travelled to Nova Scotia, Canada where he performed many concerts as well as took a summerjazz course in Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada.       In 2010 Wynton Marsalis visited Cuba and Joaquin caught his eye. Tijdens deze studie loopt Bram een jaar stage bij Alberto ter Doest aan het Codarts Rotterdam Conservatorium en leert alles over het Estill Voice Training System. ​Vervolgens studeert hij aan Henny's Opera Studio 32 te Utrecht en volgt masterclasses bij o.a. Bernard Kruysen, Harry Peeters, Henk Smit, Ed Spanjaard, Cynthia Hoffman en Mark Tucker. Tijdens deze studie loopt Bram een jaar stage bij de Nederlandse Reisopera in Enschede om zijn grote passie 'Het Italiaans Belcanto Repertoire" verder te onderzoeken. Zingen ​Bram zingt tijdens en na zijn studies in het koor van de Nationale Opera in Amsterdam en het Groot Omroepkoor in Hilversum. Daarnaast zingt hij 10 jaar als solist in diverse Opera en Oratoria producties en Theatershows van de professionele Pop & Jazz Close Harmony Groep On Air. Nascholing Bram heeft de 3-jarige opleiding bij het Universal Voice Institute in Amsterdam afgerond en is dus Certified Universal Voice Master Teacher.
