Bio
ENGLISH
I am an energetic and positive person who loves making music. My passion is to be on stage playing and sharing music with others. I also enjoy teaching because I love the unique connection music does with human beings; it takes out the best of ourselves and in our hearts!! I hold a deep passion for both classical and world music.

I continue to develop that passion in younger generations through teaching and giving workshops for young children and adults, from beginners to advance levels. I have 20 years of teaching experience. My extensive teaching experience and performing expertise have given me a vast range of methodologies ideal for adapting my teaching to the needs and pace of individual students. I am familiar with Trinity and ABRSM syllabus since 2011.

I also took additional courses in Basics on arrangements and composition (software MuseScore and Sibelius), Emotional Intelligence in Education and Stress, Management in Education and Mindfulness. In the lessons, I incorporate the Alexander and Feldenkrais Techniques principles.

As a freelance musician, I am in the substitute lists and play often with the following orchestras: Metropole Orkest (The Netherlands), Sinfonia Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Philharmonie ZuidNederland (The Netherlands), Noord Nederlands Orkest (The Netherlands), Het Zeeuws Orkest (The Netherlands), Navarra Symphony Orchestra (Spain), Asko|Schonberg ensemble (The Netherlands)

I have performed in several relevant music festivals like the North Sea Jazz Festival, (The Netherlands, playing together with Benjamin Hermann and with George Benson), Festival Junger Kunstler Bayreuth (Germany), Sommer Oper Bamberg (Germany), Jeunesse Orchestre Atlantic (JOA) (France).

I combine my freelance orchestral playing with my own classical music, world music, and interdisciplinary chamber music projects. I am a member of 2 in 1 (saxophone and viola solo project), Kurkuma Duo (saxophone, viola and guitar), Meraki Duo (saxophone and piano), Stille trio (flute, harp and viola), Chamber 9 (combo jazz and string quartet), and Bonalma String Quartet (string quartet).

Very friendly to children. The teaching is incremental, so the learning can be comfortably progressive.

My daughter of eight years old finds Ms. Estela being a passionate and energetic violin teacher. She loves Ms. Estela's big smile and gentle voice. I find Ms. Estela is attentive to the personality of my daughter, so they can interact effectively. This is really important to engage young children in a virtual class. Tunezin has a clear camera for clear instructions or feedbacks during the lesson. It also keeps the record of the lesson for two weeks so that you can review after the lesson. Super Ms. Estela and Tunezin!

Estela has a way with teaching. She pushes you to your full potential but it is filled with love. She is friendly and funny and has great analogies to help you improve, not only technically but also mentally! She consistently reminds me to think positively as I've learnt (from her) mindset is a key part to violin playing. Estela is also very organised but doesn't mind adjusting lesson times. She is the most patient and loving teacher I have ever come across, and anyone taught by her is very lucky. I highly recommend Estela as a wonderful teacher and friend.
