Bio
Hello new guitarists, I am here to tell you about the coolest instrument you can learn: The Guitar. I have been playing guitar for 18 years doing Classical, rock, pop, Latin music, Colombian music, and other styles. I have been teaching for 15 years students of all ages and levels. I want to tell you everything you can do with this great instrument. Thanks to the guitar I´ve been able to meet amazing and talented people, travel to 4 continents, teach students from different ages, backgrounds, and countries, and enjoy life with music. The guitar allows you to play any style you want, from Johan Sebastian Bach to The Beatles, from rock to Bossa Nova. You can play solo, with friends in groups, accompany singers and other instruments. With the guitar your experiences and fun have no limits. I am looking for students of any age and level who are passionate about music and the guitar, who enjoy practicing and the journey this instrument will offer. Let´s have fun!!!!

More about Julian Bogoya
I started playing classical guitar when I was 15 years old. My older brother was my first teacher and he introduced me to this world. Then I studied for 2 years at an important academy in Bogota Colombia. After graduating from High School, I went to the most important music conservatory in the country The National University of Colombia. I studied there for 3 years until I decided to improve my skills and I transferred to the State University Of New York At Stony Brook in the USA. There I won a full scholarship to do my Bachelors degree. I graduated Cum Lauda and won another scholarship to do my Masters in Music and a DMA (Doctor in musical Arts). I studied with Jerry Willard improving my technique and musicality.
I have performed in different venues In Colombia, The USA, Australia, and Dubai. In Colombia I won one of the most important concert series (Jovenes interpretes Banco de la Republica), I had the honor to play a full concert in one of the most important concert halls in Bogota in 2008. In the USA I won the concerto competition at Stony Brook University in 2011 and I played the famous Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo with a full orchestra. I also was selected as emerging artist in the Long Island Guitar Festival in the same year and I played a full concert during the festival. In Australia I played with bands and small groups Colombian music, pop and rock. In Dubai where I currently live I have played in open mics fingerstyle guitar, and During the past holidays season I played for the prestigious Cristal cruise line In Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
My teaching experience covers many styles and techniques, classical guitar, electric guitar, bass, latin music, rasgueado patterns, and others. I have taught students of all ages and levels and I also have prepared them for different exams like ABRSM and Trinity College. I also have prepared students for entry exams to college and music conservatories. My 15 years of teaching experience have prepared me for all kinds of students and personalities, I can assure you will have fun learning the guitar and have more possibilities for the future.
Thanks.
