I am a professional singer / songwriter from the Netherlands. I have toured around the world with different bands and in 2020 I won the European Songwriting Award for a song on my album 'Hide & Seek'. My favorite style is pop/folk/americana, but I also love indie and soul music and whatever I'm in the mood for :)
I've been teaching for 12 years now and it gives me great joy to get the best out of the people I'm working with.
It works best when you have questions about something particular, so we can work on that. But I always look at the bigger picture, because people, music and performance have so many different layers. In the end it's always about freeing the mind and the voice so we get the best authentic experience of YOU!
One way to dive deeper into your musical story is to learn more about improvising. In a playful way you can discover a lot of great new songs ánd free your voice!
I can help you with your singing as well as your songwriting. Whether it's a vocal technique issue (I work with CVT and EVT and other techniques) or a lyrics or harmonics that doesn't seem to work out. Or maybe you have trouble accompanying yourself at the same time you're singing. You can ask me anything.
Or maybe you're worried about getting out there on stage... The most important thing is being yourself, but in a very focused way. This way you can transfer the best of who you are and the best of your music at that specific time and place. Everyone can do it.
