Bio
Yiannis Marinos (age 41) studied Jazz Trombone in Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam with Ilja Reinjgoud, Bart Van Lier, Bert Boeren and Andy Hunter. During his studies he followed many workshops and masterclasses including Branford Marsalis, Nils Wogram and Bill Watrous.

Since 2014 is a member of the band "MARUTYRI"

In 2015: He performed with "MARUTYRI" at the "North Sea Jazz Festival"

10/2015: winner with "MARUTYRI" of the "Radio6" award in the category "Best Soul and Jazz Talent"
Since 2016 he is performing internationally with ''MARUTYRI'' including Shanghai Jazz Festival in China and SunFest in London Canada but also in the Netherlands and in Europe.

Since 2017 he is a member of the band ''Modji''. They recorded their first album ''EPIFANIA'' in 2018

He is a guest Jazz Trombone teacher at the Royal Conservatory in The Haag since 2017 and since last year he is teaching also Jazz Trombone in ArtEz Conservatory in Zwolle.

In March 2020 he recorded live the debut album of the Jazz quartet ''Chordless Quartet'' of Matthijs de Ridder.

Yiannis Marinos is performing ocassionally with the bands of Lucas van Merwijk, ''Cubop City Big Band'' and more frequently with the ''Latin Devils''
