Anne-Marie ten Heggeler (Hengelo, 1993) started playing music at the age of 7. She received trumpet lessons from Bert Fransen at the Hengelo Music School. Over the years, the interest in jazz music grew and she began to develop in it.
In 2011 Anne-Marie was selected for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. Led by Benjamin Herman, the premiere took place in the BIMhuis in Amsterdam. After this, the orchestra toured the Netherlands' largest stages, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, North Sea Round Town, Lowlands and Haarlem Jazz.
From 2011 Anne-Marie studies at the ArtEZ conservatory in Enschede with Jan Wessels. She studies at the jazz and pop department, majoring in trumpet / flugelhorn.
In June 2015 Anne-Marie successfully obtained her Bachelor of Music. She then started a master's degree at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Nico Schepers and Bert Joris.
Anne-Marie is currently working as a trumpet teacher and band leader at OYFO in Hengelo and the Fundament Foundation in Losser. She is also the musical director of Big Band Heerde.
As a trumpet player, Anne-Marie plays with her own quartet with which she plays her own compositions and arrangements. She is part of the permanent trumpet section with the Dutch Concert Big Band and the JazzArt Orchestra. She also regularly plays with pop bands, jazz formations and DJs.
Anne-Marie is active as a studio musician and regularly writes wind arrangements for this.
